A large number of heart procedures can be performed by catheterization (using small flexible tube), including angiogram, angioplasty, and stent implantation.
As a highly skilled and experienced interventional cardiologist, Dr. Chehade successfully treated many heart attacks caused by narrowed or blocked arteries via angioplasty and stenting. In fact, angioplasty is now the gold standard of care for an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Cardiac catheterization can also be carried out proactively to treat narrowed heart vessels.
